Sustainability
Minimising our environmental impact through reinvesting in our processes and continuously improving the way we work.
Everything we do, we do with care

We strive to ensure our business is sustainable.
Consciously improving our processes where we can to minimise our impact on the environment.
From the big changes to the little considerations, we’re always driving positive change from within to help support the world and communities around us.

Carbon neutral by 2030
Our goal at Sharps Furniture Group is clear: to become fully carbon neutral by 2030. How are we achieving this? By investing in smarter technologies to reduce our impact on the environment, and by supporting initiatives that safeguard natural habitats. This ambitious goal presents an exciting challenge but one we’re meeting head-on through innovative solutions and mindful business practices.
Partnering with Forest Carbon
As part of our carbon neutral strategy, Sharps are proud to be partners with Forest Carbon, a conservation initiative that works to protect forests in both the UK and abroad. By assisting them in their work, Sharps are helping them to support two projects, the reforestation of Selcoth Burn in Scotland, and conservation work in Mai Ndombe Forest in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Putting sustainability first

Vehicles can be a large contributor to a business’ carbon footprint. That’s why our company car fleet is now almost 100% hybrid, with a goal of moving to fully electric vehicles by 2025.
Our HGVs also operate Euro 6 engines to produce the smallest amount of CO2.

We strive to use sustainably-sourced and recycled materials as much as possible in our fitted furniture.
Fittingly also uses minimal packaging during delivery to keep cardboard waste to an absolute minimum.

We run Sharps entirely on renewable energy, from our showrooms to our factories.
We create no emissions when using energy, helping us to massively reduce our carbon footprint.

We repurpose 99% of our manufacturing waste, meaning virtually nothing goes to landfill – although our end goal is to remove non-recyclable waste from our processes entirely.
Our paper usage throughout the business has been reduced by nearly 60%, and we’re working on the rest.
